THE SUNDAY POST #95

'THE SUNDAY POST

THE SUNDAY POST is a weekly wrap-up feature hosted by Kimba at the CAFFEINATED BOOK REVIEWER.

MONDAY MUSIC MUSINGS

I showed my "progress" on getting my acoustic up and running, so I could start practicing, and told you about my main reason for wanting to play again. I also asked you if there were any past activties you would like to start again.

WAITING ON... TELL ME TUESDAY?
LAST. NOW. NEXT. WAITING ON.
I had a little excitement in my life and ended up telling you about the first book I finished in 2017 on Wednesday! I also showed you two books I am highly anticipating.

THE SATURDAY SATIATION
THE HUNGER GAMES UNOFFICIAL COOKBOOK GIVEAWAY
I tell you about some of the more "exotic" recipes in the book, ha ha, and share the recipe for Mrs. Everdeen's Breakfast Of Mush.

BLOGGER
Yesterday morning, when I was trying to draft my The Saturday Satiation, Blogger was not uploading images until about the fourth or fifth try, so it took me all day to get the post done because I had to keep taking frustration breaks. I didn't even attempt to draft my Sunday post. I am doing it now on Sunday morning. Blogger also hasn't been auto-saving regularly and I lost a few edits along the way, too. *big frowny face*

PLANNING
As you can guess by the lightbulb on my post header I have been having some blogging ideas! I made a fancy dancy post scheduling calendar with different fonts and graphics, but when I hit "save" on the design app I use, it DUMPED IT OUT! It wasn't on my draft timeline either! The following calendars for my blogs are much less fancy.

PHOTOS
There has been almost zero sunshine. I wanted to get pics for a publishers spotlight, and my Book Outlet haul. The sun shone for about five minutes and I was able to get this for my FLYING EYE BOOKS post...
I was setting up to take a photo of the large book's cover and we plunged into winter darkness again.

I think I raised my son right...
College boys drinking soda, eating Doritos, and playing quidditch for what they call "boys date night"; no girlfriends allowed. Ha ha. It surely beats carousing in bars!

BOUGHT EBOOKS
NONE! NADA! ZERO! ZILCH! NAUGHT!

NETGALLEY eARC (of sorts)

I was denied access to this Netgalley ARC, but the description of "Fahrenheit 451 meets The Giver" spoke to my reader's soul, so I emailed Source Books with my stats and requested a physical ARC. The publicist emailed right back and said at this point they didn't know if there will be physical ARCs, but that she was sending a link to download the Netgalley e-copy. She also said she couldn't figure out why I was denied and if it ever happens again to send her an email.
◾ ◾ ◾
I have a question for my blogging veterans, now that I have her direct email, is it okay to use it if I ever do want a physical ARC, or should I still use the house publicity email for that?

BOOK OUTLET
The week before last I received my Book Outlet order. I still have not been able to take photos, but seeing that Baz Manchild uploads the photos for me, and he can't see his birthday gift, I took a crappy Kindle pic of this one...
Baz was Horton in Seussical, so it has become a thing for family and friends to get him Horton items. This book will go with a Horton t-shirt I am buying for him.

Krysta from PAGES UNBOUND gave some tips and suggestions for maximizing search engine results for your blog. She also touched on what I call "blind links", the titleless/genreless posts used as click bait that I loathe on Twitter. You can read her post: HERE.

I was not going to read these two novels because I am very picky about fave storylines, whether it be on the page or screen, but after reading Stacee from ADVENTURES OF A BOOK JUNKIE's author event recap, they have become a must have and read! You can peruse her excellent post: HERE. She always adds great photos to these book event recaps, so it is the closest you will get to being there.
